# Refunds

Refunds go through Weav support. There's no refund endpoint: you see each refund on the payment and get a webhook.

1. Email [support@weavpayments.com](https://www.weavpayments.com/support) with the payment's `reference_id` and the amount to return.
2. Weav returns the money to your customer through the payment's channel and records the refund.
3. The refunded amount comes off your available balance, and you get a `PAYMENT_REFUNDED` webhook.

## On the payment

| Field | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `amount_refunded` | `number` | Pesos refunded so far. |
| `refunds` | `array` | Each refund, oldest first: `reference_id` (`RF` plus 12 characters), `amount` in pesos, `provider_reference_id` (the channel’s refund reference, or null) and `refunded_at`. |

- Refunds can be partial. A partial refund keeps the payment at `COMPLETED`; once all of `amount_charged` (what your customer paid) is refunded, it moves to `REFUNDED`.
- Only a completed payment can be refunded, up to `amount_charged` less earlier refunds. A pending payment is canceled instead.
- Weav's fee for the payment isn't returned.
- Each refund also appears in your [ledger entries](https://docs.weavpayments.com/reference/balance/list-ledger-entries) as a `REFUND` entry.
